AI & search with MCP servers
Search engines, research tools and agent platforms. 3 of 4 have an official server from the vendor.
Exa publishes an official remote MCP server at mcp.exa.ai/mcp, documented on exa.ai and open source under the exa-labs GitHub org. It is listed in Anthropic's connector directory as Anthropic verified. It runs keyless with rate limits, or with OAuth or an API key. Its tools search and fetch the web.
Perplexity publishes an official MCP server: a remote Streamable HTTP endpoint at api.perplexity.ai/mcp plus an open-source local server in the perplexityai GitHub org, both documented on docs.perplexity.ai. Sign-in uses OAuth or an API key. It exposes search, ask, research and reasoning tools; Claude directory listing not verified.
Composio documents its own MCP offering: you create a server through its SDK that exposes chosen toolkits, and connect with an API key header plus per-user app authorization. It is a gateway to many third-party apps, so access is broad. No Claude connector was found.
no official MCP server or Claude connector for NotebookLM was verified. Google documents an enterprise notebooks API on Google Cloud, now titled Gemini Notebook Enterprise, but no Google-published MCP server. Community servers exist; they drive NotebookLM through your Google login or undocumented endpoints, and the most-starred one is archived.
