Composio MCP server & Claude connector
Does Composio have an official MCP server or Claude connector?
Official
As of October 2026, Composio documents its own MCP offering: you create a server through its SDK that exposes chosen toolkits, and connect with an API key header plus per-user app authorization. It is a gateway to many third-party apps, so access is broad. No Claude connector was found.

Auth model
Composio brokers OAuth and API keys for many third-party apps. An x-api-key header is required by default for new orgs, plus a per-user auth step for each toolkit, so one Composio account holds access to many services.
- Flag
Write and delete access
Toolkits include write actions such as sending email. allowed_tools can restrict them; nothing is read-only by default.
- Flag
Tool-description injection scan
The docs page includes a section of directives addressed to AI code generators (e.g. which terms not to use in generated code). Not followed. Live tool descriptions were not reviewed (connect.composio.dev/mcp returned 401).

FAQ
Does Composio have an official MCP server?
Yes. docs.composio.dev describes MCP servers you create with the Composio SDK, hosted at backend.composio.dev.
How does authentication work?
Requests need an x-api-key header by default, and each user separately authorizes the underlying apps such as Gmail.
Can I limit which actions are exposed?
Yes. The docs describe allowed_tools when creating a server.
Is Composio a Claude connector?
No listing was found; claude.com/connectors/composio returned 404.
Is it just one server?
No. It is a platform that generates servers per toolkit; the docs say sessions are now preferred over single-toolkit servers.
