Stripe MCP server & Claude connector

Does Stripe have an official MCP server or Claude connector?

Official

As of October 2026, Stripe hosts an official remote MCP server at mcp.stripe.com, documented on docs.stripe.com and listed in Anthropic's connector directory as Anthropic verified. It signs in with OAuth or an agent API key. It can write data and move money, though Stripe requires human confirmation for refunds and outbound payments.

Setup

Claude (claude.ai / Desktop)

Add the official Stripe connector from the Claude directory, then sign in to Stripe via OAuth. Team and Enterprise owners must add it to the workspace first.

Safety check

  • Pass

    Publisher verified

Endpoint mcp.stripe.com is documented on docs.stripe.com, linked from the stripe/ai GitHub repo README, and the Claude directory lists publisher Stripe as Anthropic verified.

  • Pass

    Auth model

OAuth (grant per live-mode account or sandbox with separate permissions; sessions revocable in Dashboard) or an agent API key as bearer token. Stripe says full-access secret keys and untagged restricted keys stop working in December 2026 (migrate by 2026-11-30).

  • Flag

    Write and delete access

stripe_api_write can create, update and delete across the Stripe API, and Treasury tools (send_money, transfer_money, convert_currency) move funds. Stripe requires human confirmation for certain writes such as refunds and outbound payments, and advises turning on the client's tool-approval setting. No read-only endpoint documented; agent keys can be scoped to limited permissions.

  • Unknown

    Tool-description injection scan

Server is closed source; only tool names and one-line descriptions on the docs page were reviewed, not live tools/list text. Stripe's docs themselves warn about prompt injection when combining the server with other servers.

  • Unknown

    Repo maintenance

The hosted server has no public source. The stripe/ai repo (Stripe org; agent toolkit, plugins and skills that point at the hosted server) was pushed 2026-10-18, not archived, 1959 stars, but it is not the server source.

FAQ

Does Stripe have an official MCP server?

Yes. Stripe hosts it at https://mcp.stripe.com and documents it at docs.stripe.com/mcp.

Is Stripe a Claude connector?

Yes. It is listed in Anthropic's connector directory, published by Stripe and marked Anthropic verified.

Can the Stripe MCP server move money or issue refunds?

Yes, through stripe_api_write and Treasury tools. Stripe requires human confirmation for certain actions such as refunds and outbound payments.

Can I limit what it can do?

Grant limited OAuth permissions per account, or use an agent API key with only the permissions the client needs. Admins can disable MCP access per environment in the Dashboard. Stripe documents no read-only endpoint.

Do old API keys still work?

Stripe says that from December 2026 it stops accepting full-access secret keys and restricted keys without the Agent tag; use OAuth or a new agent API key.
