QuickBooks MCP server & Claude connector
Does QuickBooks have an official Claude connector or MCP server?
Official
As of October 2026, Intuit publishes official QuickBooks MCP options: a hosted connector listed in Anthropic's directory as Anthropic verified, and an open-source local QuickBooks Online MCP server in the intuit GitHub org. Both can create, update and delete accounting records, but the local server can switch off write tools.

QuickBooks Online MCP Server (local)
Intuit · Runs locally · OAuth sign-inGet/search entities (29 types) · Create entities such as customers and invoices · Update entities · Delete or void invoices · Delete a bill · Run 11 financial reports
- ⚠ Auth model: OAuth 2.0 via your own Intuit app, but the config keeps client secret and a refresh token in .env / MCP env, and the server writes the rotated refresh token back to .env.
- ⚠ Write and delete access: 145 tools including delete_* for many entities. Mitigation: QUICKBOOKS_DISABLE_WRITE, _UPDATE and _DELETE env flags suppress those tool categories; read tools are always on.

FAQ
Does QuickBooks have an official MCP server?
Yes. Intuit lists a hosted QuickBooks connector in Anthropic's directory and publishes an open-source local QuickBooks Online MCP server on GitHub (intuit/quickbooks-online-mcp-server).
Is QuickBooks a Claude connector?
Yes. The Claude directory lists QuickBooks by Intuit QuickBooks as Anthropic verified.
Can it delete or edit my books?
Yes. Both options include create, update and delete tools. The local server lets you disable them with QUICKBOOKS_DISABLE_WRITE, _UPDATE and _DELETE.
Does it work outside the US?
Not verified. An Intuit developer forum thread title reports the connector failing for a non-US company file; Intuit has not published availability in the sources checked.
Is the local server production-ready?
Intuit's October 2025 blog calls it an early preview, while the current README documents production use with a public HTTPS callback. Treat it as preview.
