FAQ
Does DaVinci Resolve have an official MCP server?
Yes, in Studio. Resolve Studio 21.1 includes built-in AI assistant integration that Blackmagic's feature guide says needs an MCP-compatible assistant. The free edition is not listed for it.
Does it work with Claude?
Blackmagic names Claude, Claude Code and ChatGPT Codex as supported assistants in the 21.1 announcement. No Claude directory connector was found.
Is the free version of Resolve supported?
Blackmagic lists the feature under Studio. Community servers say external scripting moved to Studio in 21.1, with partial free-edition workarounds.
