ComfyUI MCP server & Claude connector

Does ComfyUI have an official MCP server or Claude connector?

Official

As of October 2026, Comfy Org documents two official MCP servers on docs.comfy.org: a hosted Comfy Cloud server at cloud.comfy.org/mcp with OAuth or API key, and a local comfy-mcp server for your own ComfyUI. Cloud generations need a subscription and partner models spend credits. Docs disagree on whether the cloud server is generally available or early.

Claude Code

Direct add, or install the plugin (recommended by the docs).

Cursor

Cursor lacks OAuth support, so use an API key header.

Safety check

  • Pass

    Publisher verified

Documented on docs.comfy.org (Comfy Org's docs site) with endpoint cloud.comfy.org/mcp.

  • Pass

    Auth model

OAuth via browser sign-in for Claude Code and Claude Desktop; a Comfy Cloud API key sent as X-API-Key for Cursor and headless use. Keys are long-lived credentials.

  • Flag

    Write and delete access

Tools save and share workflows, upload files, cancel jobs and spend credits via partner_generate. No read-only mode documented; discovery tools need only a free account.

  • Unknown

    Tool-description injection scan

Read the docs tool table (no AI-directed text in tool rows). The docs page carries an llms.txt-style line for agents ('Use this file to discover all available pages...'), not a tool description. Tool descriptions from the live server were not read.

  • Flag

    Repo maintenance

The related Comfy-Org/comfy-cloud-mcp repo is archived (last push 2026-06-22); the hosted service is documented on docs.comfy.org. Current repo is Comfy-Org/comfy-mcp.

FAQ

Does ComfyUI have an official MCP server?

Yes. docs.comfy.org documents a hosted Comfy Cloud MCP at cloud.comfy.org/mcp and a local comfy-mcp server for your own install.

Is it a Claude connector?

Not verified in Anthropic's directory. Comfy's docs show adding it to Claude Desktop as a custom connector, or installing a Claude Code plugin.

Does it cost money?

Local runs are free except partner models. Cloud generations need an active Comfy Cloud subscription; credits alone are not enough per the docs.

How does it sign in?

OAuth in a browser for Claude Code and Claude Desktop; an API key header for Cursor and headless use.

Can it spend credits without asking?

Partner-model tools spend credits. The local README documents confirmation prompts and an opt-in setting to skip them.
